CASE STUDY - Pipe Stress Analysis & Modelling
Challenges:
Our client contracted to deliver significant piping modifications for a floating oil & gas production facility. Facing capacity gaps in the areas of piping design, analysis and modelling, plus risk of impact to the overall schedule, they turned to SWAX for cost effective support in the project delivery.
SWAX worked with the client to clearly define the scope of work and identifying the parameters affecting the performance.
SWAX performed pipe stress & fatigue analysis to check stresses, displacements, forces & moments were all within allowable limits. The analysis was performed using CAESAR II Version 10. Analysis was carried out using CAESAR II software for all critical lines in accordance with ASME B 31.3. The analysis outcomes were used to determine support requirements, provide support loads and thermal displacements.
SWAX provided full project management and quality assurance as part of SWAX’s unique “Assured, Managed, Delivered” outsourced work process. SWAX responded quickly, deploying a specialist team to deliver the scope with our unique “Assured, Managed, Delivered” outsource process.
SWAX worked collaboratively with the client team to provide a cost-effective solution with optimal results. The SWAX approach ensured the client management effort in the outsource process was kept to a minimum. The client’s association with SWAX was a success.
CASE STUDY - Piping 3D Model Development
Challenges:
Our client contracted to deliver significant piping modifications for a floating oil & gas production facility. Facing capacity gaps in the areas of piping design, analysis and modelling, plus risk of impact to the overall schedule, they turned to SWAX for cost effective support in the project delivery.
Using the P&IDs SWAX developed the 3d Model from scratch in Plant 3d. Then developed specifications for the model, generated line numbers, tag numbers and performed clash checks with the existing structure, equipment, etc. This included modifications to the pipe routing, adjusting existing valve supports, and adding new supports. Finally, SWAX generated the isometrics, iso book, and piping MTO.
SWAX responded quickly, deploying a specialist team to deliver the scope with our unique “Assured, Managed, Delivered” outsource process.
SWAX worked collaboratively with the client team to incorporate a number of design updates and model development iterations, providing a cost-effective solution with optimal results. The SWAX approach ensured the client management effort in the outsource process was kept to a minimum.
The client’s association with SWAX was a success.
